GVC Holdings Turns To Profit In H1; Proforma Revenue Up 8% – Quick Facts

GVC Holdings PLC (GVC.L) reported profit before tax of 113.6 million pounds for the six months to 30 June compared to a loss of 22.8 million pounds, last year. Profit per share was 24.9 pence compared to a loss of 2.1 pence. Underlying profit before tax increased to 162.1 million pounds from 64.4 million pounds. Adjusted diluted EPS was 32.2 pence compared to 24.7 pence.

First-half revenue was 1.11 billion pounds compared to 374.8 million pounds, prior year. Group reported NGR was 191% ahead and revenue was 195% ahead due to growth in the legacy GVC business and the inclusion of three months of trading of Ladbrokes Coral Group in the current year following the acquisition. On a proforma basis both NGR and revenue were 8% ahead from last year. Proforma revenue was 1.69 billion pounds, an increase of 8% year-over-year.

An interim dividend of 16.0 pence per share was declared, an increase of 1.4 pence on the previous year. The Group said its trading in the period 1 July 2018 to 2 September was strong.
