United Continental Holdings (UAL) reported second quarter adjusted EPS of $3.23 after the bell Tuesday, which surpassed street expectations of $3.06. The stock is now up 1.38 on 997K shares.

United Continental posted gains in early trade Tuesday, but settled into a range for the majority of the day. Shares closed up by 0.36 at $72.62.
