Nigel Farage looked at Monday’s protests from Insulate Britain and slammed the Government for not doing enough to crack down on the protesters. But the GB News presenter was instead angrier after an interview with Extinction Rebellion co-founder Roger Hallam showed him unrepentantly telling the interviewer he would continue to block an ambulance even if someone was dying. Mr Farage was shocked at the remark and said he felt “contempt” for Mr Hallam as he skewered the climate change activist.
Insulate Britain claimed around 60 supporters blocked Hanger Lane in north London, Blackwall tunnel in south-east London, and Wandsworth Bridge in south-west London.
The demonstration marked the fourth week of protest by the group who have seen a high court injunction issued against them to stop them protesting on the M25.
Furious motorists angry at the inaction from the police were seen on video dragging protesters off the street to allow traffic through.
Emergency services were also caught up in the havoc with one woman going viral after she begged the group to move so she could see her elderly mother in the hospital.

Mr Hallam appeared on The London Economic’s Unbreak the Planet podcast to discuss the protest.
Host Mike Galsworthy asked him: “What would you do in this situation, if it was not an Insulate Britain protest, but a Roger Hallam protest, in that circumstance, what would you do?”
Hallam bluntly replied: “I’d stay there.”
Mr Galsworthy followed up and asked: “And if it were an ambulance, and there was someone that could potentially die in there, would you stay there?”

Without hesitation, Mr Hallam said: “Yep.”
Mr Farage reflected on the day’s event and said on his GB News show: “I can’t even tell you the absolute contempt I feel for Roger Hallam for saying those words and of all of those people there on Wandsworth bridge this morning, not listening to the genuine please of that woman.
“I’m sick to death of the Government talking tough about this, people’s lives being inconvenienced, people’s jobs and income being threatened.
“And the tougher Priti Patel talks and the tougher Boris Johnson talks, the worse and the larger scale these protests become.
“We need to arrest these people, to charge these people, and to put these people out of harm’s way.

“If they think that by doing that they achieve some wonderful form of martyrdom and if more come in their place.
“And I don’t think that many more would, but if more come in their place, well, if that’s what we have to do to keep our country moving, that is what we have to do.”
Mr Farage also noted angry motorists who took the situation into their own hands and dragged protesters off the roads to allow traffic to flow.
The former Brexit Party leader was unsurprised and feared things would escalate as the public has lost faith in the police.
In the video shared by LBC, the woman can be heard screaming and pleading with protesters: “My mother is in hospital! I need to get to her now!
“She is in the ambulance now! Do you think I am stupid?!”
