London Mayoral frontrunner breaks silence over Sunak revenge
Samuel Kasumu has broken his silence after it emerged his candidacy to be the Tories’ London mayoral candidate was blocked with some claiming Prime Minister Rishi Sunak prevented the Boris Johnson supporter from standing in revenge for the ex-PM standing down as an MP. Mr Kasumu failed to make the long list of eight potential candidates which will be whittled down to three by Sunday.

A senior source from Mr Kasumu’s camp accused Conservative Party Headquarters (CCHQ) of blocking his candidacy over close links to Mr Johnson, who announced on Friday his intention to resign as MP for Uxbridge & South Ruislip.
Mr Kasumu was a former race adviser in Mr Johnson’s administration and had received high profile endorsements from the former PM’s loyalists, including ex-Home Secretary Priti Patel.
The move by CCHQ to block Mr Kasumu came less than 24 hours after Mr Johnson resigned and launched an astonishing attack on Mr Sunak’s premiership.
