Sturgeon breaks silence in new statement released just moments after arrest

Nicola Sturgeon has broken her silence over her arrest this morning, with a spokesperson for the SNP claiming the arrest was “arranged”.

The former leader of the SNP was arrested earlier today as part of an investigation into the SNP’s finances. 

In a statement, a spokesperson for the party said Ms Sturgeon was arrested today after attending a police interview “by arrangement”.
