The Sky host pressed Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab over the timescale of the UK Government pathway out of Covid restrictions. Ms Ridge pointed the news that the number of daily deaths from the virus had fallen to single figures lows. Under the current route out of lockdown, Britain has seen measures slightly with people now able to socialise outdoors and with further easing set for the end of June. However, Ms Ridge demanded, “This is the time!” for a rethink over the slow pace of the unlocking.
Ms Ridge confronted the cabinet minister over the pace of change, saying: “Almost 70 percent of adults in England have had no have Covid antibodies either through prior infections or because they have had a vaccine.
“But we are still not even allowed to give our mums a hug.
She added: ‘There were seven deaths from Covid yesterday, an estimated 450 people die of cancer everything day.
“Surely this is the time!”
