Former President Donald Trump was pictured golfing on the same day that Democrats wrapped up their arguments that the Senate should convict him after his supporters stormed the US Capitol.

DailyMail.com published photos that showed him playing at his West Palm Beach golf course Thursday, as his impeachment trial was underway.

The site reported that Trump arrived at the Trump National Golf Club before 1 p.m., and then spent “several hours” on the course.

CNN Anchor Jim Acosta also tweeted that Peter Morris, a photographer for the network, said that Trump was playing golfing there on Thursday.

Trump’s impeachment trial in the Senate, his second, has been running since Tuesday.

The Democratic-controlled House voted to impeach in January, charging him with inciting the January 6 insurrection at the US Capitol.

Impeachment managers on Thursday finished their arguments in Trump’s prosecution.

They pointed to rioters who said they were following Trump’s instructions, and said that he had riled up his supporters even before January 6. And they also laid out the effects the riot had on police, Capitol staff, and lawmakers.

Rep. Ted Lieu, an impeachment manager, said that he was afraid Trump could incite a similar attack if he ran again for president in 2024 and and were to lose.

Regardless of the content of the trial, Trump is unlikely to be convicted, because he has high support from Republican Senators.

Two-thirds of the Senate need to vote to convict him, which means at least 17 Republicans would need to join Democrats in voting for it.

Trump’s love of golf was met with much grumbling during his presidency.

He played more than 250 rounds during his time in office — often at his own properties. Trump was also golfing while major news networks declared victory for President Joe Biden in the presidential election. (Insider called the race the previous day.)
