Josh Gordon made his presence immediately felt in his debut in the Fan Controlled Football league Saturday.

The former NFL Pro Bowl wide receiver gave the Zappers a 32-26 win over the Beasts as he pulled down a Hail Mary as time expired. Overall, Gordon — who sported the No. 6 and had the nickname "Flash" on his nameplate — had four catches for 70 yards and two touchdowns and was named the player of the game.

On the game-winning catch that just might be the defining highlight of the FCF so far, Gordon showed the skill and athleticism that made him an All-Pro selection with the NFL's Cleveland Browns in 2013.

His pro football career has been derailed several times since then, though.

Overall, he has been suspended five times by the NFL and his conditional reinstatement was rescinded in January. Gordon was suspended in December 2019 for violating the league's policies on performance-enhancing substances and "substances of abuse."

Gordon missed the 2015 and 2016 NFL seasons entirely due to suspension. After being traded by the the Browns, he had stints with the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks, with whom he last played in 2019, that both ended in suspension by the league.
