{"id":109881,"date":"2021-03-18T09:49:26","date_gmt":"2021-03-18T09:49:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fin2me.com\/?p=109881"},"modified":"2021-03-18T09:49:26","modified_gmt":"2021-03-18T09:49:26","slug":"indonesia-will-restart-astrazeneca-vaccines-when-regulators-give-the-go-ahead-health-minister-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fin2me.com\/business\/indonesia-will-restart-astrazeneca-vaccines-when-regulators-give-the-go-ahead-health-minister-says\/","title":{"rendered":"Indonesia will restart AstraZeneca vaccines when regulators give the go ahead, health minister says"},"content":{"rendered":"<ul>\n<li>Indonesia will restart its AstraZeneca&#x27;s Covid-19 inoculations as soon as regulators give the go ahead that the vaccine is safe for use , according to the country&#x27;s health minister.<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Budi Gunadi Sadikin says Indonesia is still awaiting confirmation on the safety of AstraZenecca&#x27;s vaccine from the World Health Organisation and the European Medicines Agency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Indonesia will resume its use of the AstraZeneca vaccine as soon as regulators give the go ahead that it&#x27;s safe, the country&#x27;s health minister said.<\/p>\n<p>Southeast Asia&#x27;s largest economy halted the use of AstraZeneca&#x27;s Covid-19 vaccine \u2014 co-developed with the University of Oxford \u2014 after more than a dozen countries in Europe suspended the vaccine due to blood clot concerns that affected recipients.<\/p>\n<p>Health minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said Indonesia is still awaiting confirmation on the safety of AstraZeneca&#x27;s vaccine from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the European Medicines Agency (EMA).<\/p>\n<p>&quot;If EMA .. and WHO (were to) deliver a positive recommendation. Yes, I can confirm we will continue with the vaccination of AstraZeneca vaccine,&quot; said Sadikin, who spoke to CNBC&#x27;s &quot;Street Signs Asia&quot; as part of the Asian Development Bank&#x27;s virtual Southeast Asia Development Symposium.<\/p>\n<p>The WHO said Wednesday &quot;the benefits of the AstraZeneca vaccine outweigh its risks and recommends that vaccinations continue.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>EMA is expected to release findings on its investigations on Thursday.
