President Joe Biden\u2019s German shepherd Major has reportedly \u201cnipped\u201d someone who needed medical attention for the injury.<\/p>\n
CNN is reporting that the incident took place on the White House South Lawn on Monday afternoon and involved\u00a0a National Park Service employee.<\/span><\/p>\n Jill Biden\u2019s press secretary Michael LaRosa confirmed the incident to HuffPost. \u201cYes, Major nipped someone on a walk,\u201d LaRosa said. \u201cOut of an abundance of caution, the individual was seen by WHMU and then returned to work.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Reporters later spotted Major being walked on a leash by White House personnel, something CNN said isn\u2019t always the case.<\/p>\n Monday\u2019s incident came less than a week after Major and fellow presidential canine Champ came\u00a0back to the<\/span> White House<\/span> after a three-week stay at the president\u2019s home in Delaware following another reported biting incident.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The two presidential pooches were sent to Wilmington earlier this month after Major, a 3-year-old former shelter dog, <\/span>caused a minor injury <\/span>to an unnamed security staffer.<\/span><\/p>\n During the dogs\u2019 time in Delaware, a trainer worked with Major to avoid future incidents.<\/span><\/p>\n Although Major reportedly has\u00a0displayed \u201cagitated\u201d behavior since moving to the White House in January, including jumping, barking and charging at staff, the president told\u00a0George Stephanopoulos\u00a0that Major is \u201ca sweet dog\u201d and \u201ceighty-five percent of the people there love him. He just \u2014 all he does is lick them and wag his tail.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n HuffPost reached out to the White House for comment, but no one immediately responded.<\/p>\n
