Elise Stefanik, who has announced a formal effort to take Cheney’s old position. Other candidates must declare their candidacy, as Stefanik has done.\u00a0Lawmakers exiting the vote said on Wednesday that they plan to hold another meeting on Friday to determine who will take Cheney’s place. In the meantime, multiple experts have urged Americans not to hoard gas. Israel’s military said more raids conducted early Thursday were aimed at several “strategically significant” facilities. On the opposite side, Gaza militants continued to bombard Israel with nonstop rocket fire throughout Wednesday and into early Thursday. (May 12)<\/p>\n AP Domestic<\/span><\/p>\n Children ages 12 to 15 in states across the country will be able to get the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine\u00a0Thursday after a federal advisory committee signed off on the shots Wednesday.\u00a0In fact, children in Georgia have already begun getting the vaccine. Additionally, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommended adolescents in the age group\u00a0should receive\u00a0other routine vaccinations along with the COVID-19 shot.\u00a0Out of an abundance of caution, the original recommendation for COVID-19 vaccines had included\u00a0a two-week window of separation between a COVID-19 shot and any other vaccine so the cause of any side effects would be clear and so that safety data could be collected.\u00a0The recommendation was also updated for all age groups by the committee,\u00a0said the CDC’s Dr. Kate Woodworth.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Children as young as 12 should get the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine, a CDC panel recommended.<\/p>\n USA TODAY<\/span><\/p>\n First lady Jill Biden\u00a0and actress\u00a0Jennifer Garner\u00a0are set to visit West Virginia on Thursday, touring the Arnoldsburg Elementary School in Clay County and visiting a COVID-19 vaccination center at Capital High School in Charleston. \u00a0Biden also\u00a0will visit with West Virginia National Guard members and their families.\u00a0This is not the first time the pair have met.
