Liz Truss lays out her priorities ahead of talks<\/h3>\n
Liz Truss said her priority will be “doing what’s right for communities and business” in Northern Ireland ahead of Friday’s talks. <\/p>\n
The chief Brexit negotiator will meet European Commission Vice President Maros Sefcovic in London later today for more negotiations on the Northern Ireland Protocol. <\/p>\n
Ms Truss said: “I will be hosting @MarosSefcovic later today for talks.<\/p>\n
“My priority is doing what’s right for communities and businesses in Northern Ireland and protecting the Belfast (Good Friday) Agreement.”<\/p>\n
Tory peer warns Truss could make ‘huge error’<\/h3>\n
Conservative peer Lord Moylan warned Liz Truss she would be making a “huge error” if she caves on negotiations with the EU. <\/p>\n
He tweeted: “Huge error if Liz Truss agrees a deal with EU on 21 February that settles the points that embarrass the EU (eg starving NI of medicines) and leaves UK objections for future talks.<\/p>\n
“The Theresa May mistake all over again. There’ll be complete loss of confidence in her at home.”<\/p>\n
