The Foreign Secretary will travel to Brussels to discuss how to preserve “peace and stability” in the province in the wake of the collapse of the power-sharing deal in the Northern Ireland Assembly.<\/p>\n
She will attend the first meeting since June of the joint UK-EU committee set up to monitor the Withdrawal Agreement for talks with European Commission vice president Maros Sefcovic and representatives from EU states.<\/p>\n
Ms Truss said: “I will be outlining to EU member states the importance of finding solutions that protect the Belfast (Good Friday) Agreement in all its dimensions.<\/p>\n

“It is important we all work together to preserve peace and stability in Northern Ireland,” she added.<\/p>\n
The province’s assembly has been in crisis since DUP First Minister Paul Givan resigned on February 3 in protest at the Brexit deal’s trade rules.<\/p>\n
