New coronavirus cases in Japan's Osaka to exceed 1,000 on Tuesday: media

TOKYO (Reuters) – Japanโ€™s western region of Osaka is set to report more than 1,000 new coronavirus infection on Tuesday, setting a daily record, the Yomiuri newspaper said in its online edition.

The prefecture, home to 8.8 million people, has been hit particularly hard by the virus in recent weeks and been placed under targeted lockdown measures.
