The Labour deputy leader finds herself under scrutiny from Conservative voters after she said the Prime Minister “can run, but can’t hide” from the scandal surrounding the May 2020 Downing Street gathering, with one claiming she should “come up with some policies” rather than blasting Mr Johnson.
Express.co.uk reader Bill Jackson said: “How about she come up with some policies rather than just attacking the Conservatives.
“In my view, she is pretty loud and useless.”
Mr Rayner’s fury came as an email from the Prime Minister’s private secretary Martin Reynolds to more than 100 staff inviting them to a “bring your own booze” party in the Downing Street garden emerged on Monday.
The gathering took place on May 20, 2020, when the UK was under lockdown and socialising was forbidden.
Mr Rayner, saying Mr Johnson’s absence was disappointing but not surprising, told Parliament: “I think, Mr Speaker, his absence speaks volumes as does his smirks on the media.
“The public have already drawn their own conclusions.
“He can run but he can’t hide.”

She continued: “That day, the House heard from the Prime Minister himself that 181 NHS workers and 131 social care staff had died, many people made huge personal sacrifices and the minister, quite frankly, hides behind the Gray investigation.
“Did he believe this event was keeping with the restrictions at the time and the guidelines, and was the chief medical officer consulted before it went ahead?”

Ms Rayner reacted to this saying on Twitter: “The British public suffered unimaginable loneliness, hurt and grief. But they diligently followed the rules because it was the right thing to do.
“Boris Johnson attended a party, and now he is treating them like fools by suggesting he doesn’t know what a party is.”

But a host of Express.co.uk readers believe Ms Rayner’s words have no foundation.
One, under the name Edsaid, added: “Is it just coincidence, every time I see a photo of Angela Rayner she has her mouth open.
“Oh for the luxury of all mouth and no responsibility…”
Last September, Ms Rayner was reported to have called Tory ministers “a bunch of scum” and called the Prime Minister a “racist, homophobic misogynist” at an event at the Labour Party conference.
Her heated remarks caused a whirl among members of the public and politicians that only grew wider when she refused to apologise.
When asked if she would take back her comments, the deputy leader said: “I will apologise when Boris apologises for saying the comments he has made, I will retract that he is scum.”
Days later, on social media, Ms Rayner said she had “reflected” and would “like to unreservedly apologise for the language I used, and I would not use it again”.
She added: “I will continue to speak my mind, stand up for Labour values and hold the government to account, but in the future I will be more careful about how I do that and in the language that I choose.”
Ms Rayner’s approach has angered some in the public.
Express.co.uk reader Corvos wrote: “Rayner will win any argument with Boris because she will use Labour’s tactic of shouting him down.”
